You can see in the poems the Carrajung Hills and Songlines there is a pervading sense of absence, loss and missed opportunities

I know in my own work I try to be accessible and write about the challenges that face human beings, all human beings

I have a tendency to pluck historical figures and events, actual and mythical, from the past and place them at the centre of a poem because what happens in the past is repeated over and over again in the present and the future

I use words to create and manipulate images, metaphors, and symbols and attach them to people, actions, events and feelings
